We can't thank real life hospital angels enough

A COUPLE have thanked ‘real life angels’ neonatal unit staff who saved the life of their son who was born weighing just 1lb 1oz in 2021.

And Middlesbrough’s Casey Pearce and Luke Donoghue recently needed the expertise of the unit staff at James Cook Hospital again, when their daughter was born early weighing 5lb 3.5oz earlier this year.

The 25-year-olds from the Brambles Farm say they can’t thank the unit and staff enough and are on a fundraising mission to help support other parents in similar situations.

Casey was 26 weeks and five days into her pregnancy when Riley was born weighing just over 1lb, and his worried parents didn’t think the youngster, now a pupil at Priory Woods School and Arts College, would make it.
