THE Armed Forces Day programme in Redcar will include parades and events for residents to show their support "shoulder to shoulder" with the British armed forces.
The 20th Armed Forces Day will be celebrated on Redcar High Street this Saturday.
The event will start 10.30am with a parade of military personnel, both past and present, marching along the High Street.
There will then be an official opening ceremony and Raising of the Colours followed by entertainment throughout the day with musicians, singers, and dancers and military pipes and drums, cadet drill displays.
The High Street will have a range of stalls hosted by both military and local civilian charities.
Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Cllr Ian Hart, said: “This is a chance for everyone in our community to show their appreciation for those who serve both past and present.
