'Still work to do' and more additions wanted

ROB Edwards admits Middlesbrough are not yet the finished article after a summer of change, but is not worried that they failed to win a game in preseason.

The new head coach arrived at the club just before the start of preseason and has ultimately had six weeks to implement a new game plan.

He insisted from the off there might be teething issues, but it’s already been clear to see exactly how Edwards wants his Boro style to play.

Though they only managed four draws and two defeats, they outplayed Santa Clara in Portugal, and were far the better team for the majority of the games against Mansfield Town and Rangers before changes in the game switched momentum.

Now, with results really mattering from Saturday when Swansea City visit in the first game of the Championship, Edwards accepts there's still work to do both on and off the pitch.
