Sene signing ticks box in priority list

MIDDLESBROUGH have completed the signing of striker Kaly Sene from Swiss side Lausanne-Sport, ticking off a vital box in their transfer priority list before the end of the window.

Sene becomes Boro's eighth summer signing and joins the club having started the season in fine form for Lausanne, with six goals in eight appearances across the Swiss Super League and Europa Conference League qualifying. He signs a four-year contract at the Riverside.

Boro made the breakthrough last week, agreeing a £1.5m deal with Lausanne for the 24-year-old, who made clear his desire to move to Teesside. There were other clubs across Europe interested in his services, but Sene was sold the project at Boro, with sporting director Stephen Henchoz describing it as "potentially the contract of his career".
