School block plan to tackle 'critical' shortfall in space

A MIDDLESBROUGH school could get the go-ahead to build a new teaching block.

Middlesbrough Council has received plans which reveal ambitions to construct a new building that will include a main hall at Unity City Academy on Ormesby Road. It is hoped that the proposal will address a “critical” shortfall in spaces dedicated for activities such as assemblies, examinations and performances.

Plans submitted to the council state that the aim is to build a new single-storey teaching block, which will include a main hall as well as toilets.
