Sam can be solution for Mullins
The Gazette
|December 06, 2025
SAINT Sam can provide Willie Mullins with a first victory in the Sky Bet Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon tomorrow.
-
With Dan Skelton firing in big-race winners most weekends, Mullins appears to have a real fight on his hands to successfully defend his British trainers’ championship this season and he will be hoping he can begin to make inroads this weekend.
Saint Sam is ultra-consistent, with his last seven starts yielding three victories and four runner-up finishes and he was last seen pushing the high-class Found A Fifty close in a Grade Two at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday.
He only has 3lb to find with hot favourite Djelo, who is bidding for back-to-back Peterborough Chase triumphs after winning the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby, but it is not too difficult to pick holes in that form given the second home, Pic d’Orhy, has since disappointed at his beloved Ascot.
