Raducanu lifted after 'really sad' confession

TENNIS Emma Raducanu’s promising US Open campaign will have lifted the British star after a ‘really sad’ confession at her beloved tournament.

Raducanu progressed to the third round at Flushing Meadows, the venue where she famously claimed victory as a teenage qualifier in 2021 before enduring several challenging years wrestling with injury and adjusting to stardom. This year, she overcame Ena Shibahara and Janice Tjen before falling to world No. 10 Elena Rybakina in the third round in straight sets. Raducanu's showing in New York allowed her to maintain her gradual climb back up the world rankings, which have been refreshed following the final grand slam of the season.
