Marton ease home to win after Bishop good start

BARNARD Castle had a steady start at Marton in the NYSD cricket league at the weekend but failed to capitalise.

Finn Usher made 69 runs and James Quinn 33, with Josh Bousfield hitting 59 late on in the match for Castle. Sam Berry and Muhammad Irfan shared six wickets between them for Marton and the visitors ended up on 224-8.

The home side then made a steady start, as Ryan Gibson hit a quick-fire 56 from 40 balls and then Tom Miller batted well for 69 not out, while Rob West claimed 3-33, but Marton eased home to win with 228-5.
