Jailed for attack on lone officer

A PAIR have been jailed for assaulting police officers after the force was called to a violent disturbance in Brotton.

Anthony Hamilton and Nicole Hamilton are both starting stints behind bars.

An elderly member of the public also sustained minor injuries that night, Cleveland Police has said.

A response officer, who attended the address in Brotton, faced resistance immediately as he began to detain 24-year-old Anthony.

This quickly turned to physical violence as 27-year-old Nicole joined in a prolonged attack on the lone officer.

Having called for urgent backup, two colleagues arrived within minutes. They were also subjected to abuse, with one being spat at.
