DEVASTATED FAMILY PAY TRIBUTE TO 'CHEERY' SCHOOLBOY RHYS

- By NAOMI CORRIGAN and JADE MCELWEE

He had a huge smile that will forever be remembered

THE heartbroken family of alleged murder victim Rhys Cameron have paid tribute to the “cheery” little boy who “carried a huge smile wherever he went”.

The eight-year-old Billingham schoolboy was allegedly murdered between Saturday, September 13, and Monday, September 15.

Louise Cameron has appeared in court charged with killing the little boy with a trial set to take place in February.

Cleveland Police has now shared a photo of Rhys and an emotional tribute from his family.

They said: “To say we, as a family, are devastated is an understatement.”

The family said Rhys was “a lovely little son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend to many who loved and knew him in the community”.

The tribute continued: “He had a cheery, funny and beautiful personality and carried a huge smile wherever he went that will forever be remembered.
