Expansion of 'well managed' HMO approved

AN EXPANSION of an HMO (house in multiple occupation) in Eston has been conditionally granted approval by councillors.

The plans for a property in East Row sought permission to increase the number of bedrooms from six to eight by converting an existing loft space.

Members of Redcar and Cleveland Council's regulatory committee were told the application was part retrospective and the only external alterations that would be seen were the addition of roof lights already installed in a front roof slope.

A statement from the agent associated with the application, LJC Architectural Design said the building was "well managed" and occupied by long-term working professionals, and asserted no complaints or issues had arisen as a result of the current use.
