Couple pitch up with new luxury glamping venture

A COUPLE have followed their dream after opening a new luxury glamping venture set against the backdrop of an iconic landmark.

Plans for Roseberry Retreat, which is about a mile away from Roseberry Topping, were granted permission by Redcar and Cleveland Council last year.

Three individually themed shepherd's huts, each with a private bathroom and kitchen, wood-fired hot tub and parking, have been created, with a total of 10 eventually planned on the site at High Farm, off the A173 near Newton-under-Roseberry.

Visitors have been promised a “unique countryside escape” which combines rustic charm with luxurious touches. The husband and wife team behind the business, Simon and Joanna Sykes, threw a celebratory party for family, friends and neighbours earlier this month allowing them to tour the huts and see how the project has come to life, and have also recently taken their first booking.
