Eton mess yet to be cleared up a year on
PLANS for an Eton-backed college in Middlesbrough remain on hold a year since the government 'paused' them.
The proposed free sixth form for 480 students, led by Eton College and Star Academies, was announced in 2022 and given the green light by the Conservative government in 2023.
The first intake of 240 students was due this year, but in October 2024, no stakeholder was able to give a definitive date for when pupils could start.
