SEASIDE AREA LOVED BY SOAP STARS WINS AWARD

- By LORNA HUGHES

Beaches among the best

BEACHES loved by the stars of Emmerdale have been named among England's best. Saltburn and Redcar beaches were among only 66 in the country to get the Seaside Award.

The accolade celebrates cleanliness, safety and support for the environment. The winners for summer 2025 were announced by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy on Thursday.

Its Blue Flag and Seaside Awards are aimed at improving the quality of England's coastline and promoting the country’s best beaches.

Actor Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle in ITV soap Emmerdale was on hand to help Redcar and Cleveland Council celebrate the win. He was on a break in Saltburn with wife, Steph and children Albert, three and Edith, one.

Danny said: "We love it here. We come all the time. People are so friendly and it's a lovely place to come" - with Steph adding: "We all love it and usually the weather is sunny!"
