Auction celebrates legacy of legend Ugo

A MATCH-ISSUED UEFA Cup final shirt of Ugo Ehiogu is part of a collection of the Middlesbrough legend’s items available at auction.
Celebrating the life and legacy of the club icon who died in April 2017, the auction is supported fully by Ehiogu’s family and backed by Boro, with net proceeds going directly to the family.
Ehiogu wrote his name into Boro history books during his seven-year stay on Teesside, during which the club enjoyed its most successful period. As well as winning its first and, to date, only major piece of silverware in the 2004 Carling Cup final, Boro also had two European campaigns, reaching the UEFA Cup final in Eindhoven in 2006.
The UEFA Cup final shirt available at the auction is a match-issued shirt, which means it was one of the shirts produced with the intention of being used in the game, but wasn’t actually worn on the night, with Ehiogu an unused sub.
