WHEN LIFE DRAGS US DOWN

I must confess that I have my own moments of weakness - instances when, like any parent whose children have grown and have lives of their own, I feel quite alone.

A mix of emotions would fill my heart and soul - feelings of emptiness, aloneness and, dare I say, hollowness, that would drag me down.

When this happens, the words of the stoic and philosopher Aurelus would resonate with me: “What has happened had already been written and it just waits the time to make it happen.”

With this in mind, a positive frame of view would reverberate in me, telling me to continue sailing my ship - to continue moving forward, guided by the signpost that reads “Life must go on despite of...”

During this time, I would feel reawakened, firm in my resolve that I have to move on and accept things as they are, no matter what.
