In Cebu's Parian District is a unique museum - the Casa Gorordo Museum - which is the ancestral home of Juan Bautista Gorordo, the first Cebuano appointed bishop and the second appointed bishop in the Philippines after Jorge Barlin.

- By Zaida Marie A. Tambis

Next to the museum is the Kabilin Center, which houses the magical exhibit called "Around the Table". The exhibit displays the old-style cooking and food traditions of the Cebuanos. As soon as you got in, you'd see delicious food, traditional cooking tools, and learn about their rich stories passed down through generations.

Pepang heard about the exhibit and asked her Lolo Tiyong to take her there after attending the morning Sunday mass. She had always been a curious girl, so her Lolo was not surprised when she showed interest.

"Lolo, do you remember the stories you told me about how you used to cook binignit during Holy Week? Lola Nene also said that she would make puso (hanging rice) during fiestas, and the whole family and visitors would gather around the table to share stories and laughter," Pepang told Lolo Tiyong.
