TOXIC BEHAVIORS

We all have to admit that there are toxic behaviors that we tolerate to just keep the peace particularly among family members.

- Katherine R. Oyson, Ph.D.

I am one of those who used to subscribe to this view, believing that there are situations wherein it is better to just let things be even if they cross boundaries.

Lately, however, I've come to realize that there are limits to the manipulations and machinations of toxic individuals - particularly those who take acts of generosity and kindness for granted.

I've decided that this kind of behavior should not be tolerated, even if it endangers keeping the peace.

I'm sure you've reflected on this yourself.

Should one be guilty of “breaking” familial ties just because one is set on establishing boundaries?

Especially when it involves family?

A video I came by on YouTube has this to say on the matter:

Sometimes the biggest threats to your peace are not strangers, not your coworkers, not people online, but the people who share your blood, your childhood, your home.
