It was the summer the girls would never forget. Jenie, Carla, Ara, and Zam had waited all year for this trip— five days in Negros Oriental.
They couldn’t wait to go to the mountains with viewing decks and swim in rivers and waterfalls, especially in beaches with warm blue waters. They were nine and ten years old, but already full of curiosity and courage. They were ready to make memories that would last a lifetime.
Jenie, the youngest at nine, believed she was feisty and brave. Her eyes sparkled with wonder whenever nature was near. It was her first time to join the others in the trip, so she felt both excited and hesitant at first.
Fortunately, Carla, the funny one, always had a joke ready - even when her legs were tired from running around or when bugs invaded their tent at night.
