Global and local sportswear retailers are doubling down on Cebu, betting that a growing focus on health and active lifestyles among Filipino consumers will sustain demand for outdoor and fitness apparel.

Safe Step Philippines, distributor of international sportswear brands including Anta, Wilson and outdoor specialist Salomon, said it is expanding its footprint in the city as sales data point to strong momentum outside Metro Manila.

Cebu's mix of urban consumers, tourists and a thriving trail-running and hiking community has made it a priority market, according to Chief Executive Officer Jonas Ang.
