Responding cop to get an award for getting injured in line of duty

A Philippine National Police (PNP) Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting will be awarded to a police officer who was wounded during a recent manhunt operation that led to a shootout.

The operation also led to the death of the suspect on Wednesday morning, July 16, following the shooting incident in Brgy. Suba, Cebu City.
It was previously reported that a 46-year-old man, believed to be an ex-convict for illegal drugs, was shot dead on Tuesday, July 15, by unidentified men inside a computer shop in Brgy. Suba.
On the following day, a hot pursuit operation was conducted by the Cebu City Police Station 6 around 4 a.m., targeting one of the persons of interest of the incident.
As the authorities built up their investigation, they received information about the presence of one of the suspects, who was identified as a certain Jaymark “Emat” Arnais from Barangay Sawang Calero, prompting them to launch an operation.
