PRO-7 starts security preps for Sinulog, ASEAN meetings

In preparation for the Sinulog 2026 celebration and the ASEAN meetings in January next year, the Police Regional Office-7 conducted full-scale simulation exercises (SIMEX) to assess regionwide interoperability and security readiness.
The activity was carried out on Tuesday, December 2, and was led by PRO-7 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, together with the Command Group and Regional Staff.
Police officers from various city and provincial police offices across Central Visayas also participated.
During the exercises, authorities monitored real-time data and operational responses, which were later evaluated.
To test the police force's capability and interoperability, several units conducted scenario-based drills, including active shooting, hostage-taking, protest rally containment, unattended baggage response, and robbery or holdup intervention.
Each police unit demonstrated quick and effective response skills while applying the appropriate protocols.
