PRO-7 reminds public: Gun ban still in effect

The Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7) has reminded the public that the gun ban remains in effect until June 11, 2025, despite the conclusion of the national and local elections on May 12.

The ban, which began on January 12, prohibits the unauthorized carrying, transport, and possession of firearms and other deadly weapons. It also restricts the use of bodyguards or security personnel without proper accreditation from the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
PRO-7 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Redrico A. Maranan, emphasized that election-related restrictions are still being enforced throughout Central Visayas.
