Therma Visayas, a unit of Aboitiz Power, has been recognized by Toledo City for its environmental and disaster preparedness efforts, reflecting how Philippine power producers are under pressure to strengthen sustainability and community resilience.
The recognition, given during National Disaster Resilience Month, cited TVI's “Scubasurero” marine cleanup drives, “Basura Mo, Bigas Ko” waste-to-rice program, and livelihood training for fisherfolk.
TVI environment supervisor Emalyn Sevilla was also named an “Outstanding Pollution Control Officer” under Toledo's CROWN Awards, which spotlight corporate contributions to nature conservation.
