Petron Corporation reported a strong net income of P5.3 billion for the first half of 2025, showing resilience amid tough global market conditions.

Several global issues, including ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, rising trade tariffs, and OPEC+ countries easing their oil production cuts, caused oil prices to drop. In May, the price of Dubai crude oil fell to $64 per barrel, before slightly recovering to $69 in June. On average, Dubai crude was priced at $72 per barrel in the first half of the year, which is 14% lower than last year’s average of $83.
