Pam: Cebu's ready to host the event

Cebu is stepping up preparations to welcome tourism leaders from across Southeast Asia as it readies itself for the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, one of the region's most important tourism gatherings.

With delegates expected from ASEAN member states and partner countries, the provincial government is using the event as a platform to showcase Cebu's natural attractions, cultural heritage, and capacity to host large-scale international meetings.

As part of the buildup, the Cebu provincial government is organizing guided tours for both local and foreign participants of the ATF, allowing them to experience firsthand the destinations that have long defined Cebu's tourism identity.

In yesterday’s press-con, Governor Pamela Baricuatro said the upcoming forum presents a rare opportunity to place Cebu in the regional spotlight, both as a tourist destination and as a capable host for high-level diplomatic and ministerial events.

She noted that preparations are currently focused on key tourist and heritage sites, particularly in southern Cebu, where many of the province’s most popular ecotourism destinations are located.
