Mobile library, barangay learning centers pushed

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival is pushing plans to launch a mobile library and establish Barangay Learning Centers across the city’s barangays to make education more accessible to children and residents in remote and underserved areas.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting with the Cebu Librarians Association Inc. (CLAI) at City Hall, where Archival underscored his administration’s commitment to inclusive, community-based learning.

“I had a meaningful discussion with the Cebu Librarians Association Inc. about how we can further strengthen learning opportunities for our communities, including the implementation of Barangay Learning Centers in every barangay in the city,” Archival said in a social media post.

The proposed Mobile Library will bring books and learning materials directly to barangays, particularly those with limited access to public libraries.
