Lack of quorum for PB's special session derails P1.2B Budget Plan

The proposed P1,226,620,213.08 supplemental budget was meant to fund critical programs under the province's General Fund, including the 2025 Annual Investment Program (AIP).

Board Member Mike Villamor authored the resolution to approve the AIP, which was co-authored by Board Member Red Andrei Duterte.
The Freeman tried to obtain an itemized copy of the special session agenda, but as of press time, it has not been provided, as the formal session has yet to occur or be acted upon.
Among the planned expenditures were infrastructure projects, the continued implementation of flagship programs such as Sugbo Negosyo and Sugbusog, and renovations to accommodate two incoming board members from Mandaue City.
Vice Governor-elect Glenn Soco explained that the special session's failure was due to timing.
