Flood Hero Summit kicks off today

The major civic gathering will push through today at the New Cebu Coliseum as hundreds of Cebuanos are expected to join the Flood Hero Summit, a community-led initiative aimed at building a flood-free Cebu through education, collaboration, and public accountability.

Organized under the banner of Flood Hero Cebu, the summit will open with registration at 1 p.m., followed by the main program at 2 p.m. Registration is free, but participants are encouraged to bring at least three used plastic bottles as their entry pass.

"This is more than just a project—it’s a movement to put young Cebuanos at the forefront of our city’s progress," one of the campaign’s official statements read.

The event is spearheaded by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Cebu Citizens Initiative, with the University of Cebu backing the program. Atty. Augusto W. Go, UC president, is also the official venue sponsor.
