The Cebu provincial government's yearend trade fair under the Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2025 celebrations opened this week with fewer participating local government units (LGUs), as officials cited tightening budgets toward the close of the fiscal year.

Only 17 LGUs joined the Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2025: Agri-Fishery Trade Fair, lesser compared to the trade fair held in August, which drew a larger number of participating cities and municipalities.

Provincial officials explained that many LGUs are already operating on limited funds as the year ends, affecting their ability to set up booths and transport products for the trade fair.

Despite the reduced LGU turnout, the weeklong agri-fishery fair officially opened at the back of the Capitol’s Executive Building, continuing the province’s effort to support farmers, fisherfolk, and local entrepreneurs.
