Expert says cancer not a death sentence

Cancer is not a death sentence that people should be feared, this according to Dr. Zee Ying Kiat, a senior consultant of Parkway Cancer Centre (PCC), a leading oncology specialist center committed to providing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment for cancer, during its media briefing last Friday at the Radisson Blu Cebu.

“The more we know about cancer, the more control we have over it,” Kiat said during the interview.

During the media briefing, was about the hidden link between daily habits and colorectal health, Kiat highlighted what cancer really is as people are believing misconceptions.

“There is a genetic change, a mutation, that confers such abilities to convert a normal cell to a cancerous cell,” said Kiat.

Furthermore, people believe that this mutation is a type that can be passed on to the next generation that puts the children at risk.
