The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) yesterday urged all licensed pharmacies to get accredited as providers of its GAMOT or the Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment program.

In an advisory, PhilHealth called on drugstores to take part in its medicines benefit package program.

"All FDA-licensed retail pharmacies are advised to become accredited as PhilHealth GAMOT providers," PhilHealth said.

The PhilHealth GAMOT program, which offers 75 types of free medicines, took effect Thursday. Under GAMOT, every PhilHealth member can avail of P20,000 worth of free medicines yearly.
