The Cebu City Government will continue its Kakugi Awards during the Labor Day celebration on May 1, but without the cash incentives, the city’s Human Resource Development Office head Henry Tomalabead said.

The HRDO eyes close to 300 rank-and-file employees to be awarded this year.

The city’s PIO reported that 123 of these will come from the different departments of the city government. The number of awardess from the city government is symbolic of the country's 123rd Labor Day celebration.

The rest of the nominees will be coming from the 80 barangays.

Each department, attached offices and barangays are expected to nominate two each.

Nominations will be submitted to the HRDO for verification and final deliberation.
