In Cebu, the civic movement, which is actively supported by Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy, will start at 2:30 p.m. with a Holy Mass at the Pilgrim Center of the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu.

From there, attendees will march along the 2.1-kilometer stretch of Osmeña Boulevard heading to the Fuente Osmeña Circle, where various protest-related activities will take place.

It was previously reported that approximately 5,000 individuals will gather today for the event, including faithful communities and civic groups.

To maintain public safety and security, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 and the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) have raised their security level to full alert status and deployed hundreds of police personnel to monitor the situation of local protests within the city and nearby areas.

This is also in accordance with the directive of Philippine National Police (PNP) Acting Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., who ordered a heightened-alert status and ensured the availability of both personnel and resources throughout the large-scale public protest, which also coincides with the annual commemoration of Bonifacio Day.

Reportedly, the PNP has mobilized its forces from regional support units, such as civil disturbance management contingents, crowd-control elements, traffic enforcement teams, EOD or K9 units, police mobile forces, and medical or first-aid groups.

For additional police assistance, command posts, quick-reaction teams, and standby forces have also been activated.
