CCPO boosts security, police visibility ahead of 'ber' months

Just days before the start of the “ber” months, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has vowed to implement enhanced police visibility and stricter security measures across the city to deter crimes, particularly theft and robbery.

CCPO Acting City Director Police Colonel Enrico Figueroa said the police force is already anticipating an increase in such incidents from September to December, which traditionally signals the start of the Christmas season.

“Sabi nga nila pagka ‘ber’ months ay seasonal ang theft and robbery incidents. So, diyan tayo naka-focus ngayon,” he said in an interview earlier this week.

Figueroa said the CCPO’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit has already launched programs aimed at preventing both crimes.
