I stumbled upon the information that December, the final month of the year, is named from the Latin word decem (meaning 10) because it was originally the tenth month of the year in the Roman calendar of Romulus c. 750 B.C. which began in March.

My family wants all of us to add a significant dose of joy this December to fight off some events that took place in a December month which, to us, were more startling than just simply sad memories. I am actually talking about two individuals who so played major roles in our government that their deaths were unthinkable.
