Bo's Coffee stays true to roots amid expansion

Cebu-grown coffee chain Bo’s Coffee is doubling down on local sourcing and Filipino heritage as it rolls out an aggressive international expansion, betting that its homegrown identity will set it apart in a crowded global café market.

The company, which marks its 30th anniversary in 2026, used the Sinulog festival week in Cebu to showcase new seasonal offerings built around locally produced ingredients, including Cebu mango-based beverages and other tropical cold drinks, while reinforcing its commitment to Filipino farmers and social enterprise partners.

“Cebu is very dear to us. This is where we started, and it is the support of Cebuanos that made Bo’s who we are today,” Ivy Theresa P. Benatiro, vice president for global franchise and franchise operations, said during the opening of the brand’s Tribute Store in Cebu in Capitol Site, Cebu.

The outlet, originally built in 2000, was designed as a “love letter” to the city that gave birth to the brand.
