This was the through-line that Cebu's Galerie Raphael wrote to characterize one of its most recent shows — an exhibit which mainly enjoined viewers to take a break from the hustle and bustle of contemporary living, in a bid to see the world through refreshed eyes.

Titled “Born of the Land: Beauty of the Soil” and presented as one of the gallery’s highlights for July, this exhibit was top-billed by still-lifes and landscapes made by Cebu’s Seven Snow, Ariel Caratao, Clint Normandia, Kevin Tisoy Serad, Ireneo Menguito Jr., Jayme “Bong” Francisco and Elroy Julius Managbanag.
