Archival eyes year-end finish of Kalunasan STP

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival is pushing to complete the long-overdue sewage treatment plant (STP) in Barangay Kalunasan and make it operational before the end of the year.

The project, which has been stalled for years, is designed to serve an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 persons deprived of liberty, primarily those housed at the Cebu City Jail. Archival recalled that he had previously overseen the STP project as a city councilor during the administration of then mayor Michael Rama, but progress was repeatedly delayed.
Now as mayor, he said construction has resumed, with concrete pouring already underway, signaling renewed efforts by the city government to finally deliver a project that has been delayed for decades.
