APO to build Sinsin school from eco-bricks

Responding to Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival’s appeal for stronger civil society engagement in solving Cebu’s environmental challenges, the University of San Carlos—Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Alumni Association presented a project that turns waste into an opportunity.

The group is set to construct a new school facility in Barangay Sinsin using eco-friendly hollow blocks made from shredded waste materials.
Presented during a courtesy visit to Archival’s office earlier this week, the “APO Waste to School Project” aims to provide sustainable learning spaces for children while reducing the city’s plastic waste footprint, the city’s PIO reported.
Archival, who has long advocated for grassroots-led solutions to urban issues, welcomed their efforts.
