Labra said that, despite the trimmed-down budget, the city government can still implement the peace and order programs, including Oplan Pakigsandurot.

“Mao ra gihapon atong gi-request. Gani, ubos-ubos ang budget kaysa kaniadto because we believe with this budget, we can still operate,” Labra told reporters in an interview.

For Oplan Pakiksandurot alone, Labra said he has yet to confirm how much of the approved budget will be used to implement the program for 2026.

When asked where the budget would be specifically spent on, Labra said that much of it will be for the operation of the program. Part of the Pakigsandurot implementation is the formation and organization of sectoral groups who will be deployed to enforce public safety and security measures across the 80 barangays of Cebu City, he said.
