The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the dismissal of Lieutenant Samuel Kamalesan, a Christian officer who was removed from the Indian Army for repeatedly refusing to participate in his regiment's weekly religious parades.
A Bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi dismissed his petition, calling his conduct "gross indiscipline" and saying it had hurt the sentiments of the troops he commanded.
