Our Ancestors, Our Inspiration
The Free Press Journal
|November 10, 2024
On November 2nd, Catholic faithful uphold the heartfelt tradition of commemorating their deceased ancestors and loved ones through prayer, fasting, and respect.
On this day, Catholic cemeteries are adorned with flowers, candles are lit, and incense sticks are burned as prayers are offered for the eternal peace of departed souls.
Many people observe this day with fasting and abstinence, and they donate to the poor and needy. Our personal attachments, cherished memories, and the values they lived by keep us close to them. Even though they are not physically with us, their memories remain alive in our minds as a source of inspiration.
