A Delhi court on Tuesday issued notice to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Delhi Police on a revision plea challenging a magistrate’s order that had refused to direct registration of an FIR against her over allegations linked to her inclusion in the electoral rolls in 1980, three years before she acquired Indian citizenship.

Special Judge Vishal Gogne of the Rouse Avenue Courts in New Delhi was hearing a criminal revision petition filed by advocate Vikas Tripathi, who is the vice president of the Central Delhi Court Bar Association.

The plea challenges the September 11 order of an Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM), which had dismissed Tripathi's complaint seeking criminal action against Gandhi.
