NOV 22 RAID | Railway's vigilance team sent a staffer, posing as vehicle owner, to verify charges before raid; duo caught during action near Kalwa rly station

The Central Railway's vigilance team has uncovered a large-scale unauthorised 'pay & park' facility being operated on the railway land in Kalwa West. The accused brazenly issued fake railway receipts through a hand-held terminal (HHT) to vehicle owners, said an official. Two persons who were running the illegal parking have been handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

A preliminary review of the HHT summary showed transactions worth Rs3,360. During the raid, the team also found 300-400 two-wheelers, 70-80 auto-rickshaws and 30-40 four-wheelers parked illegally on 2,184 sq metres of railway land.
