Oral cancer campaign: 1,500 screenings and 5,000 ASHA trainings

Marking National Cancer Awareness Day on Friday, doctors and NGOs in Mumbai, led by Dr Hitesh Singhvi of KIMS Hospital, the Roch Foundation, PSM Association, and Dr. Preeti Pandey, have initiated a robust oral cancer prevention campaign.

With India recording nearly 800,000 new cancer cases annually per the National Cancer Registry Programme, tobacco-related cancers of the mouth, lungs, head, and neck are a major public health concern. This campaign emphasizes early detection, diagnostic capacity building, and financial support for patients to address this preventable disease.
