Mystery choking death of six-year-old

Chennai police have launched an inquiry after six-year-old Sanjana Sri died in the early hours of her birthday, apparently choking in her sleep, hospital sources and family members say.

Sanjana, a Class 1 student, had lived in Vadapalani with her mother, Padumegala; her father, Mahendran, a textile trader from Erode district, was being treated for liver disease in Chennai. Her mother and aunt had taken her
