GOVT CLAIM | Vasavan and ruling party assert that the well-organised event met expectations
After creating much hype about the Global Ayyappa Sangamam, the government and the ruling CPM have now embarked on a mission to establish the success of the event, which is widely perceived as a flop due to poor attendance.
Media coverage of the event have shown the auditorium nearly empty, with only seminar participants on the dais. Various explanations are being put forth on behalf of the government about the rows of empty seats. Opposition parties, including the BJP and Congress, have described the event as an utter failure, making no impact whatsoever.
