Hyderabad power restored rapidly after storm, CMD lauds staff

Musharraf Faruqui, Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited, praised his department's officials and staff for their extraordinary efforts in restoring electricity after severe weather disrupted supply across Greater Hyderabad.

On Monday night, heavy rains and strong winds caused tree branches to fall on several 11 kV feeders. Following nearly six months of dry weather, rainwater entered gaps in insulators, leading to failures in weak or damaged units. This affected 347 feeders across the city, resulting in widespread power outages.
