On Monday night, heavy rains and strong winds caused tree branches to fall on several 11 kV feeders. Following nearly six months of dry weather, rainwater entered gaps in insulators, leading to failures in weak or damaged units. This affected 347 feeders across the city, resulting in widespread power outages.
