Children’s creativity to the fore at special schools Navaratri Golu

Chennai special schools have transformed their Navaratri golu celebrations into vibrant festivals of learning, inclusion and artistic expression, with students from Vasantham, Sri Aruno-dayam, Srishti School of Excellence, and other institutions taking hands-on roles in every facet of the display.

Vasantham Special School in Mogappair East has been organising golu since 2000. Here, students not only help with the traditional display of dolls and figurines but also design their own themes—ranging from mythology to sports, village scenes, or origami-based artwork.
